General Maintenance

All VCRs share the same common problems, and they need general maintenance — the routine replacement of the mechanical parts that fail over time and with use. You may not be seeing any trouble right now, but playback quality quietly slips as those parts wear. The deck is built to compensate for it, which is why there’s usually little warning when something finally goes: it simply can’t compensate any longer, and that’s when the video, the audio, or the mechanics start giving you trouble.

We know these machines extremely well — we’ve been servicing all makes and models since they first started manufacturing them back in the early ’80s. We know the electrical and mechanical parts that routinely fail, and we replace them all, not just the one or two that happen to be worn or are already defective. Once repairs are completed, your unit is thoroughly tested and is ready to perform flawlessly for years running — it’s what we do.

Once your unit is on the bench, we'll check it over thoroughly, determine the faults and let you know what we find, along with pricing, before any work is performed.

We may not be the cheapest — but we’re among the very best you’ll ever find.
